King Ibanichuka - Patrick Diabuah
Ibanichuka’s character is a brave, carefree member of the military class – the Sekeni who lives to protect Okrika and his loving, childless wife Mboro. His fortuitous meeting with the goddess Tamunoba upsets his life’s simple trajectory and sets him on a tedious path to making the most crucial decision of his life, a warrior’s hardest choice.
About PATRICK DIABUAH
Patrick Diabuah is a Nigerian actor whose FILM works include “93 Days” (2016), “Banana Island Ghost” (2017), “Seven” (2019), “Ile Owo” (2022) and “Vanity” (2022). For TV SERIES, his works include “Before 30” (2015), “EVE” (2018–2022), “The Smart Money Woman” (2020) and his STAGE works include “Fela and the Kalakuta Queens”, “Sankara”, “Dialling Love”, “Saro꞉ The Musical” and “Wakaa꞉ The Musical”. He was nominated Best Young Actor at the 2014 AMAA.
Chief Ogan - Nkem Owoh
Chief Ogan is the leader of the Christian folk in Okrika. His only purpose is to see to the supremacy of the Christians over the other heathen brethren of Okrika and he goes to any extent to see to that purpose. Self-righteous and totally sold to the will of Christ, he has a vast network of resources that operate in the shadows to do ‘the Lord’s work’ which is determined solely by him.
About NKEM OWOH
Nkem Owoh is a veteran Nigerian actor and comedian whose FILM works include MOVIES “Things Fall Apart” (1987), “Rattlesnake” (1995), “Osuofia in London” (2003), “Stronger than Pain” (2007), “Ghana Must Go” (2015), “Lionheart” (2018), “Chief Daddy” (2018) and “My Village People” (2021). He won the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 2008 AMAA.
Queen Mboro - Monalisa Chinda Coker
Mboro is the beautiful wife to Ibanichuka and later becomes the queen of Okrika. She is childless in a marriage filled with love and surreptitiously despised by the people of Okrika on account of her barren status and Ikwerre origin. Her desperation to ensure her husband has an heir unwittingly sets in motion a chain of events that spiral out of control but her intervention crucially unlocks the riddle that has plagued her husband since his encounter with the goddess.
About MONALISA CHINDA COKER
A veteran Nigerian actress, film producer, TV Host, U.N Ambassador and philanthropist, her FILM works include “Weekend Getaway” (2012), “Lagos Cougars” (2013), “The Bling Lagosians” (2019) and “The Good Husband” (2020). For TV SERIES, her works include “Heaven’s Gate”. Her STAGE works include “Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again” and “The Fight To Stop Female Circumcision”. She was the host of her own Talk Show; “You & I with Monalisa” and was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series at the Terracotta TV & Film Awards. She served as the PRO of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.
Chief Okpokiri - Walter Anga
Chief Okpokiri is the ever faithful wingman to Chief Ogan. He is the undisputed deputy leader of the Christians in Okrika and is fiercely loyal to his principal. Where Chief Ogan’s arm stops, his continues in their righteous bid to enthrone Christianity in Okrika.
About WALTER ANGA
A veteran Nigerian actor, model and TV Personality, he is a native of Okrika, Rivers State. His FILM works include “Second Burial” (2014), “Biological Clock” (2018), “Star Girl” (2021), “Chemistry” (2022) and “Snatched” (2022). He won Best Actor at the city People’s Entertainment Awards and Best Supporting Actor at the AMVCA.
Consul Ralph Moor - Lucien Morgan
The cold and calculating character Consul Ralph Moor is the Consul-General to the Oil Rivers Protectorate and in consequence Okrika, appointed by the Foreign Office to gain an inroad into the hinterlands to break monopoly and promote free trade. His only impediment is the feisty people of Okrika and her ‘Eagle king’ and he believes in ‘very stern’ methods of surmounting his obstacle.
About LUCIEN MORGAN
A British and experienced Shakespearian actor, he is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His FILM works include “An American Werewolf in London” (1981), “Down by the River” (2010), “Blade Runner” (2011) and “Shadow Parties” (2021). His STAGE works include “Midsummer Night’s Dream” (1999), “The Winter’s Tale” (2001) and “Oedipus at Colonus” (2012). He is the recipient of several awards including Best Supporting Actor, Monaco Film Festival 2013, Best Supporting Actor, New York City International Film Festival 2016, Best Actor, NELAS Academy 2020 and Best Actor, Mount Moriah Award 2022.
Queen Ezi - Uju Okoli
Ezinne is the young Ibo woman who was brought in by the queen Mboro to provide an heir for Ibanichuka’s household, but has an agenda of her own. She is impulsive, brave and aggressively ambitious. Beneath her breathtaking beauty is a manipulative persona which is a consequence of a past that has inspired her askew outlook to life.
About UJU OKOLI
Uju Okoli is a graduate of Mass Communication from the Imo State University, Owerri. She is an actor and has featured alongside several veterans in the industry. She is touted as the queen of Nigerian cultural movies and her FILM works include, “No More War” (2005), “Echoes of Love” (2016), “Royal Tournament” (2018) and “Ex & Exes” (2022).
Chief Dokube - Columbus Irosanga (PhD)
The character Chief Dokube is one of the chiefs of the Ado Royal War Canoe Houses responsible for choosing the next Amanyanabo of Okrika along with the chiefs Fibika, Abam and Ogan. He is a frontline player in the events that plague Okrika during the era of the movie. A conscientious character always on the side of caution and the truth, he puts Okrika first before anything else.
About COLUMBUS IROSANGA (PhD)
Columbus Irosanga is a veteran actor, television personality and a native of Okrika, Rivers State. He is a senior lecture at the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Port-Harcourt and his most popular FILM works include “Issakaba” (2003) and “7 Kilometre” (2015). He is the recipient of several awards including Best Actor in a Supporting Role, AMAA, Best Actor in a Drama, City Peoples Entertainment Awards, Most Promising Actor in Nigeria, AMVCA and Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best of Nollywood Awards.
Igbanibo Will-Braide - Gentle Jack
Igbanibo Will-Braide also known as ‘Bar-boy’ is a Kalabari citizen at war with his King Amakiri. He seeks to secede from Kalabari to form his own Bakana kingdom on account of persecution and will need the help of his bosom friend Ibanichuka, now king of Okrika to wage a civil war.
About GENTLE JACK
Gentle Jack is a veteran actor, producer and director, and is a native of Kalabari. He was popular for the film “Vuga” (2000) where he was the eponymous character which has been listed as one of the 10 most memorable characters of the 90s and 2000s in Nigeria. His other FILM works include “Full Moon” (1998), “Ijele” (1999), “Omalinze” (2005) and “Agunnia the Warrior” (2021).
Chief Nabuoso Okujagu - Soibifaa Dokubo
The flamboyant Chief Nabuoso Okujaju is a member of the king’s war cabinet and if not the richest man in Okrika. He is arrogant, spontaneous and doesn’t suffer fools or threats to his business, to the extent of daring both king and the colonial administrators. He is a strict adherent to the laws and traditions of Okrika and will unrepentantly respond to any perceived encroachment of his rights with gunshots and cannon fire.
About SOIBIFAA DOKUBO
A veteran Nigerian actor, voice-over artiste, documentary photographer, his FILM works include “Stigma” (2013), “Umbara Point” (2014) and “Soole” (2021). His TV SERIES work includes, “Riona” (2020). He was the Best Actor ZAFAA Global Awards (2015).
Otonye – Qwekumalhi Ikenna Onyekwena
The character Otonye is the childhood friend and enforcer to Ibanichuka. He is a First Class member of the Sekeni, the military class of Okrika and one-time counsellor to Ibanichuka prior to when he is made king. He is sold to Okrika and her ways and will give his life to defend the law and traditions of his people against friend or foe. Brave and practical, he unwittingly leads Ibanichuka down the path of war and bloodshed.
About QWEKUMALHI IKENNA ONYEKWENA
He is a Legal Practitioner, public speaker, an actor, writer, producer and budding director with his works already on TV. His WRITTEN works on television include “Clause & Consequence” (2017), “Upside of Down” (2016) and “A Heart of Two Halves” (2020). He has acted for FILM in “Something Special” (2016), “Clause & Consequence” (2017), “A Heart of Two Halves” (2020) and for TV SERIES, “Riona” (2021), “Dilemma” (2022) and “EVE” (2021–2022). He is a Black Belt holder in Isshin Ryu karate.
Omekwe Horsfall - Sonny Mcdon W
Omekwe Horsfall is the indomitable, seasoned and enigmatic General of King Amakiri’s Kalabari army. He withstands Igbanibo Will-Braide and his allies being the intrepid and dogged Sekeni of Okrika in a dazzling campaign towards the final and bloody confrontation on the plains of Aluu.
About SONNY MCDON W
Sonny McDon W is a veteran actor, producer and director. He is a graduate of the Colorado Film School, Denver, USA and was popular for the film “Karishika” (1996). His other FILM works include “Rattlesnake” (1994), “The Incredible Father” (2016), “Flirting with Fifty” (2017), “Drifted” (2019) “11 Thought” (2019), “Rattlesnake꞉ The Ahanna Story” (2020) and “Memoir” (2022). He served as the Director of Programs, AMAA.
Chief Fibika - Kio London Biokpo
The character Chief Fibika becomes a trusted ally to King Ibanichuka and acts as an intermediary between his people and Consul Ralph Moor in Okrika’s darkest hours. Being the son of the immediate late King Fibika, Ado the V, his counsel seems valuable to Ibanichuka over time.
About KIO LONDON BIOKPO
Kio London Biokpo is a Port-Harcourt based actor producer and director. He is a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Port-Harcourt with over 25 years cognate experience in the film industry with a passion for total embodiment in the craft. Some of his FILM works include “Abuja Boys” (2004) and “King of the Jungle” (2004).
Sobere - Oluwatunmise Emmanuel Akinbo
Sobere is a devotee of the character Otonye and like his mentor is a strict adherent to the law and traditions of Okrika. Brave and feisty, he despises the Christians and worse loathes the king’s accommodation of their practices. He is eventually made to grasp his mentor’s true interpretation of duty and sacrifice in one of the shocking twists to the story.
About OLUWATUNMISE EMMANUEL AKINBO
At the time of shooting this film, Oluwatunmise Emmanuel Akinbo was a 400Level student in the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Port-Harcourt. He is the son of one of Nollywood’s foremost wardrobe consultants, Millicent Jack. His STAGE works includes Ola Rotimi’s “The Gods Are Not To Blame”. He is the recipient of the award for Actor of the Year, ATAS UNIPORT Choice Award, 2022.
Chief Priest Itelima - Ovunda Ihunwo (PhD)
Chief Itelima is the Chief Priest of Fenibeso, the deity of Okrika. He plays a major role in ritual cleansing for coronation, war and even executions. He is in league with the Sekeni, Okrika’s military class.
About OVUNDA IHUNWO (PhD)
Dr. Ovunda Ihunwo is an actor, a stage and screen director and a gifted songwriter and musician noted for “Eri Ozari” an Ikwerre Afro-Gospel Chorale. He is a senior lecture at the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Port-Harcourt and has featured in several movies and stage dramas, directed for the University of Port- Harcourt. His FILM works include “Koko The Box TV” (2021). And he has directed for STAGE Ola Rotimi’s “Hopes of the Living Dead”.
Tanto - Izuchukwu Ezeokoli
At the time of principal photography Izuchukwu Ezeokoli was a 400 Level student of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Port-Harcourt. Whilst studying, he won the Best Supporting Actor and Best Director respectively during his time in school. Izuchukwu is a film enthusiast and hopes to take the world by storm through filmmaking.
